Basic Details

The Basic Details tab provides foundational configuration options to define and organize your workspace precisely. These settings help categorize workspaces, facilitate identification, and improve visibility across multiple projects.

Fields Overview

  • Project (mandatory)
    Select the project to which this workspace belongs. This association determines where Terraform configurations and runs will be organized.

  • Workspace Name (mandatory)
    Specify a unique, descriptive name for your workspace. This helps differentiate it from other environments (e.g., dev, prod).

  • Labels (optional)
    Labels are multi-select tags used to classify workspaces for easier filtering and search. You can type to create new labels or select from a dropdown.

  • Tags (optional)
    Tags are key-value pairs that further describe and group your workspace resources (e.g., env=dev, team=infra).

  • Description (optional)
    Provide any additional context or notes describing the purpose or scope of the workspace.

Steps to Configure

  1. Navigate to Workspace Details > Basic Details.
  2. From the Project dropdown, select the target project.
  3. Enter a Workspace Name that reflects the environment or purpose.
  4. In Labels, select existing labels or create new ones to categorize the workspace.
  5. Optionally, define Tags as key-value pairs for metadata and organization.
  6. Add a Description to document the workspace's context or intended use.
  7. Click Save to apply the configuration.

Tip: Use consistent labels and tags across your workspaces to improve searchability and reporting.
